The Magic of Making Up
How to save a broken relationship – the magic of making up
If you’re reading this, you may be already experiencing some difficulties in your relationship life and wanting to save your strained relationship with your lover or spouse. The strain is unbearable because that is not what you wished to happen. However, why have things gone wrong when nothing significant has occurred that threaten to wreck your relationship with your lover or spouse? Is it still possible to save a broken relationship and prevent it from being unsalvageable?
The first thing you need to consider is whether you still treasure this relationship. This is a personal question that you have to ask yourself before taking the next few steps towards mending your relationship. If you treasure it, then you will need to put in a lot of effort to salvage it without worsening it.
The next step requires some memory work. You will need to jot down the recent slew of events pertaining to your relationship and try to identify the cause of your broken relationship. Is it your actions that caused it to happen? Or was it your lover or spouse? Probably both of you may have contributed to it. If you identify yourself as being the main cause of this, then it is time to get to work and change. It may be your attitude, or perhaps the way you communicate with your lover. There are many things that can be factors of this unfortunate incident, so try to dig out as many as you can. You will be amazed at the magic of making up when it really happens within a day, or sooner.
Finally, you will definitely need to have a personal and undistracted conversation with your lover. It has to be face to face, and not over the phone. If your lover does not want to talk to you face to face, you will need to find a way to persuade him or her to come out and meet you. Do not use force, because you need to consider the feelings of your lover. He or she is also hurt, just like you, so approach with a loving and tender heart.
If it still does not work, then there is no choice but to use the phone. No matter what happens, find a way to start a conversation, because that is when the two of you try to find out what is not working in your relationship, then try to solve the problems together. Nothing is better than doing things together.
There are books out there that can give you more insights of how to save a broken relationship. I personally recommend one of them here. Spare a thought for your relationship and act now before it is unsalvageable.
